ON THIS DAY in 1869, Felix Salten, author of Bambi, was born in Vienna, Austria. In 1942, Salten’s book was adapted by Walt Disney for his animated classic, BAMBI.

  1. I have a nephew who, after seeing the film, refused to go outside. All he kept saying over and over in his little three year old voice was, “the meadow”. Can’t say that I blame him…
